Used by local governments

Information distribution from local governments and information collection by citizens can be made smarter.

For example, "segmented distribution" allows you to choose who you want to send the information to. Local governments send out information in a wide variety of genres, such as disaster prevention, infectious diseases, garbage disposal, events, child care, etc., and the content varies depending on the area. With "segmented distribution," you can deliver the most suitable information to each person by having the citizens register in advance the genre they want to receive and the area in which they live.

The LINE SMART CITY GovTech Program(Japanese only) provides, for free, the source code to local governments for a variety of functions to make their LINE Official Accounts more convenient, including "segmented distribution," "FAQ chatbot," "application/survey," and "calendar appointments". The LINE SMART CITY GovTech Program(Japanese only) was developed based on the Fukuoka City LINE Official Account(Japanese only) as part of the LINE SMART CITY FOR FUKUOKA project that LY Communications is working on in Fukuoka City.

*As a demo, you can see the LINE Official Account "Local government information distribution (ID: LINE Use Case-GOVT)" equipped with a full set of functions.

In general, there are two ways for local governments to send out information: posting it on the website (pull type) and sending messages (push type).

When sending out urgent information, such as heavy rainfall or the spread of infectious diseases, it's important to use the push type of information distribution, where the message is delivered without the end user having to operate the system, in addition to the pull type, where the end user can get the information on their own.
